Working in education can be deeply meaningful - and deeply demanding. You may be supporting pupils all day, managing constant expectations, and carrying responsibilities that don’t end when the school day does. Many teachers and teaching assistants describe:
feeling emotionally drained or burnt out
struggling to switch off or rest properly
carrying concern for pupils long after the day ends
feeling pressure to keep coping, even when things feel unsustainable
Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to be the one holding everything together.
A space that understands the realities of education
Alongside therapeutic training, this work is informed by my lived experience of working in education. Having been a teacher, I understand the pace, pressure, and emotional load that can come with school life - including the sense of responsibility, scrutiny, and limited time to pause. This means you don’t need to explain or justify why things feel hard. The pressures of the role are recognised, rather than minimised.
A space just for you
Counselling here is a place to slow down and focus on your own wellbeing, without being assessed, observed, or expected to perform.
Sessions are shaped around what you need, which might include:
processing stress, overwhelm, or burnout
talking through difficult situations at work
exploring boundaries, guilt, or over-responsibility
reconnecting with your own needs and limits
There’s no expectation to “fix” anything quickly, or to find ways to cope better at all costs. Sometimes the work is about being supported rather than being resilient.
Working at your pace
Therapy is offered in a calm, thoughtful way, moving at a pace that feels manageable alongside your workload and energy levels. Whether you’re questioning your role, feeling close to burnout, or simply needing space to talk things through, counselling offers a place where your experience is taken seriously.
How can hypnotherapy or EMDR help you? Hypnotherapy offers you a way to deeply relax, while bringing about changes in your life through working with your subconscious mind. Previous clients have commented on responding differently to stress, feeling more confident and sleeping better.
EMDR can help you process trauma that is getting in the way at work. Perhaps someone or something triggers you on a regular basis at work. Or maybe working in a highly pressurised environment has allowed old traumatic events to resurface and impact you again. EMDR can drastically reduce or eliminate triggers, allowing a person to live a calmer, more mindful life.
